Elijah and Esther (Terry) Waltrip were the parents of four children, all born in Barry County, Missouri:

Married: John R. Stinnett on February 1, 1866, in Barry County, Missouri - John was born in 1843 in Barry
     County, Missouri, the son of Henry and Molinda (Brown) Stinnett - (the Henry Stinnett farm was next
      to the Waltrip farm)
Died: August 10, 1894, at age 49 - John Stinnett died in 1918 about 75 years old
      - both are buried in the Purdy, Barry County, Missouri Cemetery.
Children: six (all probably born in Barry County, Missouri)
  • Mary Alice Stinnett - born November 1867
  • William R. Stinnett - born in 1872
  • Emma L. Stinnett - born in 1874
  • Effie M. Stinnett - born May 1877
  • Arthur M. Stinnett - born August 1880 - in 1900 he was listed as a dry goods salesman

    Married: Jacob "Jake" Birks on November 9, 1865, in Monett, Barry County, Missouri - Jake was born
         August 19, 1844, in Seligman, Barry County, Missouri, the son of Silas and Sarah (Rogers) Birks -
         Jake fought in the Civil War with Company G, 15th Cavalry Regiment - in 1880 Jake was working at a
         sawmill in Carroll County, Arkansas
    Died: July 24, 1930, in Monett, Missouri, at the age of 83 - Jake Birkes had died of quick consumption
         on August 4, 1906, in Purdy, Missouri, at age 61 - both are buried in the Purdy, Missouri Cemetery

             Married: Harriett Haynes about 1894 - she was born March 1874 in Missouri, the daughter of
                  William and Sophie M. Haynes

                  shows them living in Purdy, Missouri, with David listed as a jeweler
             Died: May 27, 1954, at age 86 - David died April 26, 1936, at age 81 - both were buried in
                  the Purdy, Missouri Cemetery

             Died: October 3, 1872, only 2 years old - buried in the Eugene Gates (Elijah Waltrip) Cemetery

          Union side in the Civil War with the 2nd Arkansas Infantry - he had enlisted July 3, 1863
    Died: December 5, 1930, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at age 81 - she was buried in the Cashe Cemetery in
          Lawton - Hugh Rogers died March 26, 1908, in Guadalupe County, New Mexico, at age 60
          - in 1910 Lucinda was living in Lawton, Oklahoma, with her daughter, Mary (Rogers) Stinnett

                  Cuervo, New Mexico - in 1910 Francis was living (no wife) with his sister Mary (Rogers) Stinnett
                  in Lawton, Oklahoma
             Died: September 3, 1928, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at age 57 - he was buried there in the Highland
                  Cemetery

             Married: Joseph Riley Stinnett on January 10, 1894, in Purdy, Missouri - he was born in March of
                  1873 in Purdy
