The Beginning
The Kelly family has been a branch of the family that has been hard to trace. The Kelly name is a common name and is spelled one of two ways, "Kelly" or "Kelley". A number of Kelly families are located in the cities of interest and, therefore, it is hard to put them together.
Wilbert Kelly, nephew of Lyda (Kelly) McClane, has the McClane family bible but the names and dates are not referenced to type of relative, son, daughter, etc. The bible also is not in good condition.
Kelly is an English or Scottish name meaning "one who came from kelly (holly or woods)" or "a dweller in a grove".
