Parents of Two Direct Ancestors
Jan Dekker and Heyltje Jacobse Joseph Ennes and Grietje Van Etten were not only husband and wife, they were also third cousins. |
Jan Broersen Dekker (or Decker) was born April 23, 1640 in Husum, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the son of Gerrit. He died in 1717 in Port Jervis, Orange County, New York about 77 years old. He married Heyltje Jacobse in 1660 at Kingston, Ulster County, New York. Heyltje was born about 1635 in Goteborg, Bohus, Sweden, the daughter of Rutger Jacobs.
